The Route has been carefully planned to call in the worlds foremost sailing destinations, such as the Greek Isles, the Caribbean and Tonga.  The passages between destinations has also been carefully planned to provide optimal conditions and distances for Passage-Making Training.  And the timing of the circumnavigation, a five year endeavor, allows plenty of time to provide opportunities for a variety of sailing vacations in each destination.

Corban is currently sailing the Mediterranean coast of Spain, primarily in the azure waters of the Balearic Islands.  This archipelago consist of four islands; Mallorca - the largest, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.  All the islands share a common Baleares Personality, but each is markedly different from the others in local color and terrain.  The landscape's contrast is most diverse when comparing Formentera's miles of sandy beach with the dramatic 1000 meter cliff that drop directly into the sea below on Mallorca north coast.  The islands are host to wild strawberries, olives, almonds beautiful citrus groves and honey.  It is also interesting to note that citrus was introduced to Florida from the Island of Menorca in 1768.

The islands have very stable weather during the months from May all the way into November.  There are countless calas, small navigable creeks or bays, that create an excellent cruising/training ground, and a reward all in them selves to the visiting sailor.  Palma, the capital of Mallorca, is also one of the Mediterranean's main yachting centers which makes keeping Corban in pristine condition a pleasure.

The distances between islands, though only about 30 miles from each other at their closest points, create a perfect environment for passage making training as well.   Only 90 miles from Barcelona, the Balearic Islands are truly a sailors paradise, beautiful, assessable, interesting culture and exceptional sailing.
